On Instagram, Dia posted a candid selfie dressed in a simple white kurta. But it wasn’t just the photo that caught fans’ attention. Playing softly in the background was the rain theme music from the film, a tune that became synonymous with her dreamy debut.
Along with the post, Dia Mirza wrote an emotional note that reflected just how meaningful the film has been for her: “This tune has in so many ways defined the song of my adult life… I was 19 when I danced in the rain with children… the first visual that introduced me as an actor to the audience. With a film title that defines the very essence of the hope one carries into this journey called – LIFE. Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein – Then, Now and Always. So so grateful for your acceptance, your generosity and love….”
Released in 2001 and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, the Hindi movie was a remake of his own Tamil hit ‘Minnale’. Though ‘RHTDM’ didn’t set the box office on fire initially, it slowly gained a loyal fanbase over the years.
Its soulful soundtrack, including unforgettable tracks like ‘Zara Zara’, ‘Sach Keh Raha Hai’, and ‘Dil Ko Tumse Pyar Hua’, remains timeless and continues to evoke feelings.
Dia’s performance as the charming and soft-spoken Reena won hearts.
On the professional front, Dia most recently appeared in the film ‘Nadaaniyan’, directed by Shauna Gautam. The romantic drama features a fresh ensemble cast including Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor, alongside veterans like Suniel Shetty, Mahima Chaudhry, and Jugal Hansraj.
The story revolves around a privileged woman who ropes in a middle-class man to pose as her boyfriend, only to have real emotions bloom between them.
